“IMMACULATE REJOICEMENT OF MOMENTS WELL VALUED”
The Shigally Hill international Academy once more carried out with full camaraderie its ninth Founders Day function.
The Uttarakhand’s Principal Chief Conservator Of Forests, Mr. Sameer Sinha, was the chief guest on the occasion, who graced the inaugural function on 16th December, 2017. After the arrival of the chief guest, welcome address and presentation of bouquet, followed the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Thereon, a brief introduction of the eminent personalities, Mr Sameer Sinha and Mr C.P.Dang, who is a renowned figure in the field of Hospitality and Education Industry was given.
First in the itinerary was staged, ‘Saraswati Vandana’ by the Hindi Choir, which was followed by a spectacular display of western dance ‘salsa’. The spellbinding dance performance was followed by an extremely melodious and uplifting song presented by the English choir. Finally, the much awaited moment arrived, when the school’s Principal, Mrs Kamaljeet Kaur Jolly, addressed the audience and stated the formal annual report and high lightened the various outstanding achievements attained by the students in multiple fields. Eventually, the breath taking moment arrived, when the song ballet “ABHISAAR” was staged by the school’s budding artists, under the guidance of their Performing Art Guru, Mrs Sharmila Bhartari. The performance enthralled all present with the traditional depiction of the legend of ‘ UPAGUPTA’ the disciple of Lord Buddha and ‘ VASAV DUTTA’ the courtesan. The underlying theme was ‘the eternal and sacrificial love journey of Vasav Dutta and Upagupta’
The Shigallians attired in the traditional Bengali dress, accompanied by soothing and complementing background music, impressed the audience on the occasion. The exquisite performance left the entire audience in a transcendental state. The scintillating stage enactment was followed by an address of the Director, Mrs Manraj Pallan, who gave an intensively comprehensive and detailed presentation on how the world would become 20-30 years hence from now. She shared her views on issues related with quality education and how she strongly believes that the spectrum of the curriculum with its depth and range, can be beneficial to the students towards their holistic development, only if it is made vibrant and functional which is what the school is always aspiring towards. Another major attraction for all the Shigallians, parents and staff was the launching of the Annual Magazine, ‘The Shigallians’. It was released by the chief guest, Mr Sameer Sinha. Further, the chief guest delivered an extraordinarily impressive, informative and motivating speech amid loud applause. Finally, mementoes were presented to the chief guest and the guest of honour. Thereafter, a vote of thanks was tabled by the Principal. To conclude the program on a melodious and lively note a student, Pema Chukit Lepcha, along with the entire school rendered a stirring song. It enthralled viewer-listener mass.
The wonderful performance was followed by the school song. The whole environment turned festive as this was also the day for the Shigallians to go for their much awaited winter break. ‘Happy holidays’ greetings were floating in the clean air of Shigally Hill International Academy.
