Happy Holi Happy Hugs

Shigally has all the colours nature has to offer from different shades of green to all possible colours of ‘Gulal’ can be found in abundance  in the form of flowers. The festival of Holi further added colour to the colourful ‘day to day’ lives Shigallians lead in an highly educative environment.

An evening prior to the main ‘colourful holy hugs celebration’, an enchanting ‘Holika’ bonfire was lit at the school’s main celebration grounds. Girls and the resident staff members swarmed around the holy fire dancing in joyous merry making spirit.

Coloured water, gulal, music, Dance, Sweets and exchange of happy hugs made Holi memorable for the entire Shigallian family.

Career Counseling – Doorway to Italy

Shigally Hill International academy opens doors for its Board students to pursue lucrative career oriented courses in Art and Design in Italy. The girls at Shigally – National and International, have a passion for design and Arts. The Management and the Principal feel that the school is responsible to develop their student’s passion into a career.

A live presentation was conducted in the school Auditorium by Mr. Alen Brivio – Regional Admissions Manager (Asia) of Laureate International universities, Milan, Italy. He introduced the girls to the World of Art and Design education. NABA, Milan has an unmatched opportunity not just to learn design but also to immerse oneself in a vibrant, stimulating creative culture that will enrich ones education immeasurably.

The girls of SIA showed tremendous interest. On seeing the warm response from the students, the Principal shared that the young girls must give expression to their unique and distinctive talents and harness it in its various manifestations.

At the concluding end of the presentation, Mr.Suchin Sawhney of the same university welcomed the girls for any further queries and questions. Finally, a healthy career oriented interaction followed among the students and the foreign representatives.

Shigally Hill steps into the Robotic age

The students at SIA move in step with the latest global trends possessing the universal outlook. To be at power with the fast moving times, the school’s director and principal, introduced the students and the staff to the ‘Brain Cafe’ Robotics academy of Zee Learn Ltd. Regular workshops are being conducted since 6th Feb, 2012. Robotics is a branch of technology which deals with designing and programming of Robots which are primarily automated machines which follow human commands. The workshop aims at making students familiar with fundamental concepts of physics, mechanics, electronics and electronic sensors.

The students will continue to make simple robots as a part of the school activities till each girl from class III onwards has successfully completed 10 robots. The idea is to expose the students to the latest trends in technology.

The area manager Mr. Vivek Anand was highly impressed by the keen interest shown by the girls and complimented on the student’s high performance level.

The principal appreciated the entire team of trainers comprising of Ms. Divya, Ms. Geetika, Mr. Arpit and Mr. Lalit headed by Mr. Vivek Anand for contributing in the field of advance education, leading towards the growth of the students and the school.
