Established in 2003 the Institution is part of a large education organization operating under the name of Babra Institutes of Education Ltd which has its head office in Nairobi, Kenya. The Founder Mr. G.S. Babra had a desire to set up an institution of learning in India. His commitment was to set up a secure, safe and yet modern institution to empower the girl child, and thus the birth of Shigally Hill International Academy which gets its name from the Shigilly Hills where the school is situated. His aim was to create an institution which would take the best of both the western and Indian cultures to imbibe in the SIA girls a formidable strength of character, and to empower them to take their place in a changing world not as second class citizens, but as  leaders and full participants.
